Coffee Grounds

Is it dangerous to put coffee grounds in/around/on the soil in the garden that the chickens play in all day long? I am planning on turning it into the soil. I just want to be safe for their health! I assume they'll ingest it.

We put our coffee grounds in the compost piles and the chickens are always scratching in the compost. I wouldn't recomend feeding it too them, but I think it would be ok in the garden.
