cold weather....eat less or more???

Do guineas need more or less food during cold weather. Mine seem to be eating way more.

Mine eat more too. It's because there are no bugs for them to eat and they need to eat to stay warm. I feed mine cracked corn to help keep them warmer. I also put plenty of straw in their pen and house so they can keep warm.

I put about a sixth of a bale of straw in the coop every day for them to keep active. Then seems to tear through it like nothing in the cold.


I guess maybe I should up the amount of straw too, so they have something to keep them busy.

I guess I will make it three pitchers of feed a day now for the 13 birds.

I have 13 birds, and they don't eat nearly that much!

I fill my feeder with just one coffee brew pot a DAY! My ground is frozen, so I know the bug population is down.. I do feed them a couple handfuls of a mixture of BOSS & cracked corn.
