I bought 2 baby perkin ducklings from tractor supply. When I brought them home they were raised inside, and both had bright yellow/orange beaks. As they got big enough to be outside safley, I put them outside in a pen. As they grew the female beak started becoming a duller yellow/orange, but the male stayed the same bright yellow/orange. As the ducks grow the female requires more nutrition than the male. DON"T feed your ducks bread, as it will actually shorten the lifespan of your ducks because bread is actually not nutricious. Ducks require greens just like we do. Ducks will eat letus and tomotoes, which are healthy for them. Ducks also eat dirt and alge which adds to their nutrition. Buying the little packages of vitamins that you add to the water also helps. It's to late to grow letus this year, but i will be growing some next year just especially for the ducks.
