Hello BYCers... We are a wannabe chicken family... Found this site exploring How to Build a Chicken Coop and wow...hit the jackpot! We have so much to learn and will certainly spend a lot of time here educating ourselves on 'all things Chicken'! What a great group and great site. We are a couple recently retired and relocated to Colorado with lots of acreage now. Built a greenhouse this year and are looking forward to a few chickens next year. Wish us luck!

Two pieces of advice, take them if you wish:

1. shed coop!! convert a shed, insulated is better to avoid dampness/rainout

2. automatic coop door opener!!! once a day chores vs. twice a day chores/going out at night!!!
