    They inject a dye into the eggs during development, around the US, it's done on easter.. most are PW Leghorns.

    I love those bright colors!!

    Makes you wonder if the purple and pink ones get picked on.... didn't see any reds... or blues?

    i've heard they can do it while the chick is in the egg. the issue is that they don't stay that way and some places you cannot sell them like that due to people buying them as a 'novelty' and then abandoning them when the true color comes in.

    I remember Getting a blue and pink baby chicks for Easter. They both turned out to be White Legorn Roosters.
