I have 2 SLW chicks, born same day, bought from the same seller, but one has a larger, more developed comb, and one has almost no comb at all.
Is this a somewhat dependable indicator of gender, or is this an old wives tale?
    Theyre 20 days old.

Definitely NOT an old wives' tale. Feel free to post pictures of your chicks, though almost three weeks is a little young to sex accurately for most unless you have an early bloomer.

#1 is rose combed like a Wyandotte should be. #2 is single combed which is why it looks different. Also #2's color doesn't look right for a Silver Laced Wyandotte. Sure that's what it is?

That's what the man was selling them as at the feed store.
What does it look like if it's not a slw?

Well shoot. Hopefully she has a better attitude than my other black hen.
