Oh! I am in. I have 15 very expensive silkie eggs that are set to hatch 11/7! We are just heading into lockdown this weekend. Last time I had temperature problems so I amped up my incubator with a large dial for better temp control, three thermometers instead of one, and one less curious woman who is trying her best not to open the darn thing every chance she gets.

I swear if I were a broody hen I would stand every second and just stare at my eggs in amazement. I'd surely get the stew pot

This is hysterical! Have you candled at all? To make sure things are in line?

So I candled my Araucana and Marans eggs last night-Day 10. I have 5/8 Araucanas developing. The other 3 were NF. The Marans eggs are alive and kicking at 11/12. The 12th one may have something in there. The shell was so dark that even my Cree LED couldn't get enough light into it to see.

Well I just got done with a hatch on Halloween with 13 chicks hatching, and what do I do, I started up yesterday again with
7 Cream Legbar/Penedesenca eggs ((I Bought One egg had a hole in shell and so I taped it in Sandwitch bag cut to fit end of egg Hope it does well))
15 MillieFleur Leghorns eggs I Bought
8 Orpingtons eggs My Flock
4 Millie Cochins eggs My Flock
3 Polish eggs My Flock
((This is the last hatch this year))

Welcome to our group. I just set a batch of 15 Serama eggs yesterday too. Whenever I have had a cracked egg I just melt some wax over the hole. I would be afraic the plastic bag would trap and hold too much bacteria.

I am sort of wondering where all those babies you are hatching out are... Sounds almost as big than Cackle Hatchery!!HAHABut maybe you are selling them off as you hatch? I would be truly overwhelmed.

I thought the hole was too big for wax it would seep in too much I thought, so I wanted to at least try something, hope it works. I taped first then did the plastic bag over the tape and taped again.

It was a drink cooler. That pic was after I ripped out all the refrigeration parts
