My beautiful 24 week old Ancona is driving me crazy! She looks ready to me and our rooster who has been mating her for weeks. Her hatch mates have already been laying since 21 weeks old. Give me some eggs please! :) Edited to update age - she's just 24 weeks old :)

I wish. At least that would mean she's laying eggs [IMG] No she's stuck inside our coop & run and hasn't even tried to squat yet. I've caught her in the nest box once two weeks ago.

How are yours doing? I thought about your Snow White when my Snow White was trapped under our mini coop by a Coopers hawk yesterday. I have to get some sort of cover over my new extended run.

The rest of my girls are doing really great...I have some more speckled sussex coming shortly...and a couple of JG for good measure...I have GOT to get rid of some birds! [IMG] Im glad your Snow White was okay! Im always terrified when one of mine doesn't show up now [IMG] Never had a hawk attack before her.

That's great. I still have my WL Snow White laying every day. I also get one green egg a day from my EE. I had another EE that laid 4 eggs and then just died of unknown causes. I've got 4 Lavender Orpingtons that are 15 weeks old today. But AC is the one who is driving me nuts!

starlover, looks like yours may have a little longer to beginning to lay....her comb doesn't look quite as red as a bird who is laying just yet...sorry [IMG] someone on her said alfalfa also helps...couldn't hurt to try

My girls have been getting alfalfa, oyster shell, supplemental light and Purina Layena feed since Snow White was 20 weeks old (week after Thanksgiving Day).

Hmm...okay. I wonder why she's waiting so long?? However, she is a little washed out in the pictures. She seemes more red in real life... wanna drive over here and have a look at her? [IMG] Where do you live? :)
