My mallards hatched out yesterday, and my teacher whom helped me, bought medicated starter grow... Is this really going to kill the ducks?[IMG]

Well, I've read on various sites that, because ducks eat more than chicks, the medication can poison them, inadvertently killing them, so i was just wondering. I don't want to lose the little buggers. [IMG]

Depends on what it's medicated with. If it's allopurium (sp) for cocci then you should be ok. If it's an antibiotic I would get a non-medicated starter asap. It's just because ducks eat so much compared to chicks that they can easily overdose on a medicated starter.
    Hope this helps.

I'll have to check, I don't think it was an antibiotic, but I will check.
