Coney Island chickens - pic heavy

I was visiting my family in my old hometown (Brooklyn, NY) this past week and my cousin had told me that there were chickens a few blocks away. So during this visit I of course wanted to see them. We biked down and found them...it was a community garden and we happened to have come when one of the members was going in and we asked to come in as well. Here are the Coney Island chickens:

What fun! You know, I often take my home in Arkansas for granted. I live on 7 acres and there's plenty of room for me to have a garden and all the chickens I care to have.

Then I think about a big city like New York where most people there don't even have a yard! For them to come together and form a community garden where they are able to keep chickens and share space to garden...well I find that just AWESOME!
