Confirm Ameracauna chicks?

I should stay out if TSC until chick days are over.

Needless to say, they had quite the sale - chicks were $0.25/ea and they had a brooder with chicks labeled strait run Ameracauna and Cornish Xes.

I grabbed 6 of the chicks that appear to be Ameracauna - they all have the chipmunk type pattern and what looks like beards and muffs to me. All of them have darker legs but the one in the first pic is more yellow (he/she would NOT show the feet for a photo).

I know how fraught labeling has been so the these guys with some Eggers being labeled either as them or “Americana” so I was hoping someone could confirm.

Either way, I’ll be happy with a couple colored egg layers… especially at a rate of 6 for a $1.50!

So glad I wasn’t at that store! 25 cents each? I have SOME willpower but not THAT much! 😂 I have a “thing” for chickens that lay colorful eggs...lol. Congratulations on a great find!

Not at my TSC. They had 4 week old Cornish chicks they were trying to get rid of for $1, that was the best deal I’ve seen (& I live dangerously...I ALWAYS peek in the chick bins!) 😂
