Ok I hatched 6 Split to Split Coronation/ Light Sussex eggs. All of the chicks are now 4 weeks old and I assumed they are were Light or Splits since the have had black neck Feathers and some black wing feathers since they first sprouted feathers. Now I am noticing as the black feathers grow that lavender/off white color is surrounding the black center on most feathers. The neck feathers are really just coming in and I am starting to notice the same pattern. I thought the feathers had to be black or Lavender, not a combination. I have been somewhat disappointed but now I do not know what to think. Anybody seen this before?
