My cookie tin water heater has served me well for several years, but has now gone on the blink. Thinking I need to replace the medium base light bulb socket. I don't want to use the rubber/2-wire sockets--I prefer to stick with the porcelain/2-wire. Having a tough time finding them. Our HD & Lowes don't have the types I'm looking for.

Closest version I've found is this on Amazon:

Will this work ok? Water heater is inside my coop, sitting on a Pavestone block with metal waterer on top. I only use it during sub-freezing temps. Thanks for suggestions.

I went to a thrift store and bought a lamp with the light base we wanted. Spent $2.00 9 years ago, then did the same thing 4 years ago when we added another waterer. My hubby also caulked around any openings he made, I think that's why mine have lasted so well.
