Is there a difference between a "coop" and a "chicken house" or is it only a matter of semantics?

    This is my understanding:

Coop = chicken house = hen house

(That last one may only technically be true if you don't have roosters!) [IMG]

Run = pen = chicken yard

    tomato tomato hehehe.

Just a matter of where you are in the country etc.

But most of the time a chicken house is what you call a commercial chicken farm. bc the chickens stay in the "houses" all their lives and resemble a large greenhouse.

coop = 1: a cage or small enclosure (as for poultry); also : a small building for housing poultry
    2 a: a confined area b: jail

    Cheers and good day.
