My coop is a large dog house raised up to create a covered outdoor space underneath. The original dog house had a front porch that is now wired in. Never having kept chickens before I made this coop I stupidly put the pop door/ramp in the floor of the coop. No bedding will stay there now. As soon as the door is open every bit of straw gets kicked down below. The bedding in the closed part of the coop stays in just fine, so the girls have plenty for warmth in the night, but the porch is a pain to keep clean and of course, where they usually poop. I have been scraping it down every morning and scrubbing it once a week. Any ideas on how to fix this problem without re doing my whole ramp system? Thanks!
