Help!!!! I have my 2 week old chicks and 2 baby ducks in a rubbermade tub in my spare room. They keep spilling their water from the rimmed dish, making their bedding wet. The 2 ducks like to put their feet in it. I keep cleaning it and they will have their bed almost entirely wet again within an hour or so of cleaning. Also runs them out of water quicker than it should. It's making me crazy.

Any suggestions on how to have water available but that won't make a mess???

! Pleased you joined our flock! Yes, ducks do indeed make a mess - they are the main culprits in this. If possible, get a second tote. If not, what I like to do is elevate the bedding and feeding area - I lay down short chunks of 2 x 4 and then a mat (like an old dish drainer mat) and put the shaving on that - in the other half of the tote is the water - which will get messy but at least will stay down on that end and the sleeping/eating area will be a little cleaner and drier. Good luck to you!
