My granddaughter raised 10 Cornish Cross for her 4-H project so we know a few things about these birds. THEY STINK! They are not as responsive as our 'regular' chickens. They don't seem to do much but eat, poop and drink. They don't roost.
All that said; we are now considering raising meat birds for our use so want to do 3 or 4 batches per year 20 or 30 at a time.
We'd like some ideas on how big the outside pen should be for 20 to 30 birds and how much sq ft we should figure per bird for the coop. I want the coop (and pen) easy to clean since they are a stinky bird. I don't see a need to do a 6' walk in coop for these guys and am trying to figure out a way to maybe have it 3 or 4' tall with a lid (or lids) that lift up to clean.
Any ideas or pictures would sure be appreciated!
