Coop in destin

Looking for help making a coop for my chickies in Destin, FL. Main concerns are how big I can make it and how much square feet 4 chickies need? Does it need to be 2 levels for roosting? Thanks in advance!

For 4 chickens you only need a coop 4 feet x 4 feet. Now that is only a general guideline. 4 Square feet per bird. Then you need a run which has a guideline suggested of 10 Square feet per bird. You being in Florida, you can have an open style coop. This means that your facility is a fenced enclosure with a roof over the whole thing. There is a small compartment for nesting boxes inside and also a number of roosting bars, or branches inside. Florida climate is Ideal for such coops. Another option for just 4 chickens is a $200 ebay ready to assemble model. Here is a pix of one..
