Coop Question

I have 30 chickens now. I have decided that I need one coop instead of two. What size of coop would be good for 30 chickens? My chickens free range all day, so they are only in at night.

It would have to be quite a large coop. If you go by the rule of 4 square feet per bird that would mean you’d need a 120 sqaure foot coop or a 10’x12’ coop. Hope this helps.

And since chicken math is a real thing... perhaps just a tad bigger... maybe 12 x 12 or even 12 x 16 so you could partition a small section (4 x 12) for feed/bedding storage and a work bench to hold an egg basket/egg cartons? It would also give you a "double entry" (inside door to the actual coop area) so you could go in and out without worrying about escapees.
