I will be getting 25 cornish cross from TSC on Monday or Tuesday. The guy in there told me to start out with 24% chick starter then go to 22% starter then to 15% finsher is this right? Thank you!
There is no need for the finisher. We sell and feed the Homestead brand Fast Grow that is designed to be a one feed for the entire feeding period. I usually recommend one bag of Turkey Starter per 50 birds then go to the Fast Grow. What price does TSC have on their bird? Jim
Ya I would start them on a 24 % and then finish them on a 22% if that is what you have. Be carfull and not to use a starter with amproleum (sp) as this is meds for coccidiosis. Get non medicated if your going to finish them with the starter.
I put mine on regular non medicated chick starter for the first 4 weeks, then I switch to gamebird (higher protien) for the final four weeks. I have never had leg problems or any of that...

My first "Cornish cross" from TSC turned out to be Light Bramahs. Good thing that they only had two left for me to buy.
