What is the best feed start to finish when harvesting at 5 to. 6 weeks?
You want feed that is formulated for broilers/meat birds. Nutrena and Kalmbach have a broiler feed at 22% protein. There are most likely others brand just like it. Honor Show Chow has a broiler feed at 26% protein
26 present when after 2 or3 weeks
I'd say 26 percent would be great for them from day old to butcher, 22 is acceptable tho
I'd be concerned about them growing so fast on the increased percentage that they'd be crippled from the excess muscle mass to bone ratio.
If the protein is too low then you can also have growth problems with the legs. If 26% makes you nervous then use the 22% and you will fine. The 26% feed is more of a high performance feed used for competitive broiler projects.
If you are butchering so young you shouldn't have to worry about leg problems, those are issues to worry about when you get into 8+ weeks
For cornish game hens to be harvested between 4. &6 weeks I no high protien what about organic feed ??
