Hi I am trying to source Cornish cross chickens in Ireland or UK. Are they called anything different, what are they crossed with etc. Having difficulty sourcing them. Want to start a meat flock, considering light sussex but have read on here that Cornish cross come on quickly and are good to eat.

The meat chickens incorrectly re=fered to by some in the US are properly known as "broilers" which is the term most often used for them in the rest of the world. Cobb-Vantress (the worlds second largest producer of broiler breeder stock has an office in England,) Aviagen (the b=very largest primary breeder of broilers) also had an operation in the UK. So some where thre are a lot of chicks being hatched for grow out.

Thanks so much I can easily purchase indian game hatching eggs and chickens.
