cornmeal and crunchy pb

Last Saturday my wife informed me we where out of feed for the chickens.

It was late so the feed store was closed. I cut in crunchy peanut butter and cornmeal just like you do with flour and shortening for pie crust. They looked like they hadn’t eaten in a month. I feed it to them for two days. When I went back to their regular feed they didn’t like it to much.

Has anyone else had this type of experience?

hehehe you spoiled them

I get peanut butter suet blocks and they love them.

They looooove cornmeal too, but I generally keep that to myself after they leave the brooder.

When we ran out of feed for a day once I fed oatmeal. I don't remember them being too spoiled to eat their regular food though.

Silly chickens!

Trust me it only lasted until they got hungry again.
