Bullies want their beliefs validated and fear difference.

I wear scarves, The number of people who react poorly to any scarves for all sorts of ignorant busy body reasons is a problem sometimes... it never occurs to them why I might have a hundred reasons to dress different to them or that I can dress as I see fit same as them. Wear a hat and they are all okay with it put a scarf on your a gang member, uneducated, a physical threat, a foreigner... scarves work for me. I also dress for my job, not their job, but my job something lost on control freaks. Nor do I understand the go back to your country manure they sometimes say to me... my ancestry goes back to precolonial on one side and back to the British Colonies period pre revolution. I also don’t understand the PC ignorance over skin color and scarves... yep that has come up too... There are some truly ignorant people in white collar middle class America both sides of the divide.

But at the end of the day it is not about scarves as much as my choices seem odd to them so they feel threatened for no good reason... as if my presence and fashion choice has to be their choice too. No America is about freedom, a class they must have missed in civics...

I wear a mask now too, oh boy that must be beyond offensive when combined with a pretty long scarf or my Smokey The Bear bandanna from the Forest Service with USA flags on it. I love it when they threaten me at work... this is when I get to talk to them about Federal Law or just direct them to my bosses... I am recorded all the time. Still gainfully employed despite threats from people who believed they had “power” which they did not.

Some people are just rude, control freak, fearful bullies and are jerks.

I will wear masks, gloves, scarves, hats, and anything I need or want to. No one is asking them to do the same here. But so far I have been right about outbreaks here not going away be of summer heat, nor do I want to participate in medieval thinking on disease control, or be part of a herd immunity experiment... nope, nope, nope... if biosecurity is good for my chickens then I have no problem applying it as best I can to prevent disease in my family... COVID-19 could easily kill me or my husband. My niece and nephew living at my house have already been orphaned when one whole side of the family died.

Be happy people, do what is right for you.
A customer didnt buy from me because I wouldnt let them on my property. I never let anyone come buy chickens on my property before this virus because I do not want some foreign disease put on my soil from another person with backyard chickens.

I have always worn a mask especially in the hospital because my Pulmonologist highly recommends it to all his patients. Plus I am not someone who plays russian roulette with their health. People look at me like I am crazy all them time and I do not even pay attention to them anymore. When they are crying and whining about being sick, I just smile because I am healthier than they are.

I am very aware of it, have yet to see it. It's on my "to see list" along with endgame and a few others. Just finished watching the Matrix trilogy and over the next week or so we will be watching and discussing the other cool DVDs associated with that big box set. The girls are on the "front porch" of teen-dom. It's also relivant for the covid and other cultural issues front and center.

Thanks for the reminder of Marwen. I thought I recalled a reference to a real life person/sad situation but, didn't know it was also a "real place" too. Does the end of the movie give any history lesson-per-say?
Yes, it shows photographs of the people of both the "real" Marwen and the Movie version.

What really hit home for me/us was Googling Marwen afterwards, which took us to all the down-n-dirty, behind-the-scene details. I do NOT recommend watching the details first, even for adults who know the story. It ruins the innocence and the joy in the movie. Do it right after. Better yet, throw out, "I wonder if the place is real, too" and let the girls look it up for you. It's enlightening ... and humbling ... and in the face of today's social crisis ... ex-TREME-ly current!

To be clear, there are some uncomfortable, but decently handled topics - drug references, civil unrest and bullying references, war and mental illness - a lot of things that teens and tweens deal with in school-based discussions. If it helps any, I work very closely with middle school kids and I find this movie to be spot-on appropriate for the age and a perfect leaping-off point for some really important thoughts and discussions.

If you DO watch it, please let me know. I'm curious to hear your kids' - and your - reactions.

He picked that one 😂 he loves it. He was having such a good time looking at her breeders. She has tons of polish and sultans.
Sultans. I WANT SULTANS! Not just the bantams, the full-sized, critically endangered ones. I WANT SULTANS (Oops, did I say that already?) I have NO more room and I've stretched the "No Rooster" patience of my neighbors far enough, already ...

BUT ...

I WANT SULTANS!

Many people in Walmart were wearing masks today but none can read the floor directions that say wrong way... I had to get out of there before I blew a gasket 😂 We had to get cat litter, paper towels, American clear waters, and a new puppy collar. We were in and out.

We worked on the fort and now it’s officially a coop. We got roofing that you roll out 2 rolls that should’ve been $300 for nothing from a friend! It’s the best stuff ever. Made things easy for us. We put the escapee chicks in there until they’re bigger. They were hogging the food from the younger chicks so we had to separate them.
Pics! Pics! WE WANT PICS! .... puh-leeeeeeze?

These aren’t the bantam size I don’t think. They were the size of a regular sized polish and standard chicken. We got to see the breeding stock.

🤔 Hmmm. Let us know if you figure out whose it is!
My little buff cochin bantam lays a light colored, lightly freckled egg. She's the only cochin I've ever had, so I have NO idea if that's normal or not, but they seem fine - and so does she. She just hatched her first chick, yesterday. We thought she was evil as a broody, but we weren't prepared for the Mama-Monster she just became, overnight. Our "Gem" has become "GemZilla!"

🤢 At the risk of repeating myself ...

:hit:hit:hit I WANT SULTANS! :hit:hit:hit
I only paid $3 per chick too 😂 I’m just adding salt to your wounds now. Funny thing is this person bought chicks from me a few weeks before and I didn’t know it was her ad I was responding to. My husband looked at all of the breeds she had and was drooling 🤤

This was the first time I got a white egg with brown speckles. Only chicken I saw in there yesterday was my silkie and my porcelain d’uccle nobody else will go near the broodies... they’re psycho!
