No but I've had those before. This one was smaller and had pink or blush in the name. I found it locally and it wasn't an heirloom.
Sounds good!! I had one once that was a brandy wine mix and another that was a mortgage lifter mix. Both were good.

Hindsight is always 20/20. Nobody's ever been through something like this much less making decisions that directly affect people.
No politician living.... but similar to the 1918 flu... which they were reminded of

Woke up this morning with a cough and stuffy nose, but my allergies are ridiculous right now. The trees are getting their leaves so the pollen is insane right now. Everything is yellow!

I can tell I spent a lot of time outside yesterday. Think it's best during times like this. Outside is the best therapy
@FortCluck
If you have a allergy for pollen don’t expose you’re self too much and keep the histamines in you’re body at a low level. If you don’t, its get worse every year.
  • Get anti-histamines and take one every day until the pollen disappear.
  • Avoid the pollen (stay inside with pollen filters or wear a corona-mask).

Do you guys take raw honey from honey bees for allergies over there? I know people on this side of the pond swear by it.
We take anti-histamines and my kiddo takes a prescription asthma and allergy medication so that could be why we haven't found local honey very effective so far.

The Princess has pollen allergies and has an allergic reaction to locally sourced honey.

Last year I ordered from Seed Savers Exchange and I really liked them. Usually I just buy in store. I had done a lot of research though and came across many of the other companies but SSE seemed like a good one to me and they were. :)
SSE is where I plan on ordering corn seed if I ever go bigger, best place I've seen for large quantities, they have 10-25-and 50lbs for some varieties. I want to try Seneca red stalker, native to this area.

I’m really amazed at the differences in food availability. Are you and @FortCluck both near large urban areas? I’m in a more rural area so perhaps that makes a difference. There was a marked difference between the two stores I went to last week.

I think we're having fewer issues with food availability since we're ahead of the rest of the nation by a couple of weeks. But yes even in one area you'll see big differences in what stores have in stock. Target last week was almost depressing... the food areas (frozen, canned) were really cleared out, it was dead silent in there. But Trader Joes yesterday was the exact opposite even though they were limiting how many customers could come in.

I'm doing meat, cheese, beans, and salsa on them. They'll be a pretty complete meal

Nachos are a great dinner! I do rotisserie or poached chicken, along with homemade queso, homemade salsa (since hubby doesn't like cilantro or spice), and homemade pinto beans with aromatics.

We just got issued a stay at home order. Not allowed to leave the state if we do it has to be a emergency. Then we have to quarantine for 14 days. Jail time no more than a year or $5000 fine if cought doing anything other than getting essential items, going to the hospital and things like that.

That's actually impressive if they stick to it. In most states there does not seem to be any actual penalty for breaking the shelter in place order...

Kale is something I don't like 🤮

It's not bad, and tremendous bang for your buck. Yeah I get a little tired of it but even 5 or 6 plants produces enough greens for daily consumption through winter. I mean look at these monsters, I'll be eating this through next month.

I order from others also but I really like Baker Creek, their varieties are awesome.

That's my go-to seed source as well, but they're slammed for orders right now and a lot of stuff is out of stock. Glad I ordered in January!

As soon as any commercial place near you gets chicks RUN, we stopped at a feed store about an hour after the chicks arrived and they were practically ALL GONE! Apparently upon opening (before they even got chicks), people had been coming in waiting for them to get them in!

So I checked the feed store I'd been considering getting chicks from... they're actually doing it via appointment. So you have to sign up in advance and then have a limited amount of time to pick out what you want. Also can't get more than... 8 or 10 without contacting the coordinator first? It's to prevent someone from going in and buying out everything.

I like it. It's not a bad way to limit the number of people in the store and to keep people from swarming in. I'm still... thinking about it. Hubby wants more chicks. :)
