Cost of Show Birds

I was just wondering what you would price your best birds at. The ones you would never sell. I am trying to get an estimate of how much of a loss it would be if a poultry breeder with good birds suddenly lost them all to AI eradication measures.

I have show quality silkies. I do not show but others can.

If someone asked to buy the ones from my breeding pens, I'd say $100 for the hens and $75 for the roosters.

Their chicks I sell for $10 each, so putting $100 price tag on one of my hens sounds cheap, but around here, that's probably all I could ask.

Thank you. My only experience with showbirds for sale is the overpriced ones at the show I go to.
