Does anyone know anything as to Coturnix Quail history in the U.S.? How did they get here? When did they arrive here? Who bought them here? Why?
I would think that they are a recent arrival, perhaps in the last 30-50 years. I say that because I'm kinda surprised that they are not more popular being that they have so much to offer.. Could be they never caught on, like rabbit, in much of the country
    Anyone?

I have found studies on them from the 50's done by universities I would almost bet the shaking quakers ( shakers) had the birds in the 1800's easily probally even further back then that
