Here is our first Quail hatch from our own eggs. We set 80. 46 hatched so far.

I can't believe all these people that are hatching quail this time of year!! Do you realize how much they stink!?!?!?!

They are adorable, almost makes me want to hatch more....but alas, all my brooders are filled with the ones that I hatched too late to put outside before it got cold

I am prepared for stinky... but if it gets too terrible they have a place outside now...I need initiative to get out there and get it completely ready but it'll only take an afternoon to do

I have a multi-level packing barn with three basements that are quite easy to keep warm. Quail grow so fast they will be ready for cooler temps in about 4 weeks, but they will stay inside for the good lighting so they start laying quickly. We are now up to 48 hatched. They have to finish tomorrow so I can put in Frizzle eggs by Wednesday (not to mention 30 to 40 more quail eggs)
