Every night i crawl into my little coop to put my chickens to bed and someone pointed out to me that it might be bad for my lungs with all the dust poop and feathers.Could this be possible? Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

It's funny, I think about this every so often. Years ago, there was an episode of House that featured a little boy who was very ill, who was drinking out of a well or playing where there had been a large chicken coop. They said the poop dust had given him an infection.

But, I think if you maintain a reasonably clean coop, you'll be fine. I have yet to hear of a real-world story where someone was ill from their chickens. However, if you have asthma or allergies, you may want to be careful. Just my opinion, of course. [IMG]
