My 2 speckled sussex hens are about 14 months old. They have been good layers. But for about the past week, Cluck has been spending a lot of time in the nest box(2-4 hours) but not laying any eggs. My nest box is a "booda dome" litter box. On Saturday, Clack even went into the nest box when Cluck was already there. I thought for sure that I would have 2 eggs. But only one. I've been wondering what was going on and it dawned on me today that maybe she's broody. I'm a newbie. These are my first girls. What do you all think? Any advice?
Thanks so much.
