My chicks are a little over a week old now. All but two have GOOD solid poops, I'm not sure which two but I think its 2 or 3 chicks that have runny poo. The firm poo is like well........if they poop on me I can flick it off with my finger and it will fly across and land on the floor(thats how firm it is). LOL sorry I know that was gross. Anyway, what is causing a few of the chicks to have runny poo? How can I stop it? They eat Purina medicated chick starter, have clean water and bedding, and its 95 degrees in there and there all comfortable and have space. [IMG]

Could it be ceceal (cecal) poo you are noticing? Looks like melted chocolate and perfectly normal. It occurs every six to 10 movements, a sort of flushing of their intestines.
Here's some pics that may help you decide if it is ceceal poo:

Yep, perfectly normal. They'll have ceceal poos their whole lives. It's stinky, messy and will stick like super glue to your bare feet should you ever have the misfortune of stepping in it. [IMG]
