Thanks! I have 3 chicks that are almost 4 weeks old. Buff Orpington- Rubi, Americauna- Fern and Barred Rock- Willow. [IMG]

I got my main plan idea from a coop on this site, I think by Earthy Chick:

I tweeked it a little, by making it a little smaller, and adding the nest box and elevated roost box (to come).

I also wanted it a little feminine since they're 'the girls' and I love Lavender. [IMG] I'm planning on surrounding the perimeters with river rocks to keep my big dogs out, and maybe make a little pathway with some flowers or something.

Here's a pic of my chicks with my littlest dog, Claire (she looooooves them!)

(they're lots bigger now! I always catch them roosting on the top of their brooder! [IMG] )

So far it's been $120. We bought treated boards for the bottom, and about 25 2x4s, the wire, the hardware and the paint. The window and OSB boards are recycled. We're also getting some metal roofing that's recycled. So that definitely helps with the cost!

What a beautiful little coop, and a nice sized run for them. It's big enough for you to sit in so they can all jump up on your lap at once!

That's fantastic! You hopefully created a BYC page to add it to our coop section!!!
