Cows are STUPID! My good deed for the day

Turns out her dad lived a few pastures over.....and she grew up to be a fence jumper as well! We had to keep her confined to an electrified round corral until we sold her because she kept ending up in the road.

They get into more trouble than my dog, cats and chickens together could even manage.
In the heifers defense though, this bunch has only been on the farm for a few days. Once the neighbor came and rescued them from their situation, they've managed to stay in the main pasture with the rest of the herd.

I've often wondered about cows (moreover, the farmers) .....

What was the guy thinking when he came up with the idea to see if a cow is pregnant?

I saw Mike do it on Dirty Jobs.

I mean, really.....How do you get THAT idea?

If I had my "dreathers" I'd just wait for a baby cow to show up in the field...

My friend I grew up with had several cows...I never saw them do THAT!

The reason we like to know is, it is unprofitable to keep a cow around that hasn't bred back. We have a small enough profit margin as it is without feeding a cow 9 months and then find out she isn't going to give you a calf to sell.
