I found a cracked egg under my broody hen yesterday. I left it in the nest for now (my inclination is to remove it), but DH wants to know if the egg is still viable. It looks like another hen went in the box and laid an egg and dropped it right on this egg. The membrane does not appear to be broken. So is it ok to leave it or should I pull it from the nest?

Pull it. Its too risky to leave it. One rotten egg can lead to a lot of rotten eggs.
