Cracked egg when do I remove wax repair?

Hello! I dropped my incubator lid on day 18 on two of my chick eggs! Both had live chicks inside and I used crayon wax (it was all I had) to repair the cracks. They were significant cracks and on the sides! I’m worried if I don’t remove the wax the chicks won’t be able to pip! It’s day 20 and one of the eggs is rocking quite a bit! Should I remove the wax? If so, today? Or tomorrow? Thank you!

I would monitor closely, but would not intervene unless pipping/zipping was noticeably impaired.

As long as the wax repair isn't thick they should be able to break out of there shell. You will need to monitor the egg and maybe assist if they can't get get out.

I've dropped eggs and cracked them. They usually all quit. Don't worry about removing wax. Cross your fingers and hope that they don't die.

Yeah that looks thick. You will need to put an air hole on the air sac side of the egg during day 20 to 21, watch for pipping on the shell, if none occurs remove the air sac shell, they will be able to break the membrane and get out.

Thank you so much! I just put a little hole in it and looked though and I can see what I think is the internal membrane moving around... just a white film inside.

Update! It’s day 21- Egg 2 the more severally cracked one died. But this egg is still alive and moving! It hasn’t internally piped yet. I moistened the membrane by spraying fractionated coconut oil on it. Membrane doesn’t look ready? Also I think that’s a shoulder I can see. Head is tucked..... not sure if this is a bad position or not.
