I have an egg with a very slight crack/dent in our incubator, should I take it out or leave in???
Take it out before it starts leaking bacteria in your bator
Welcome to BYC You can try repairing it with some candle wax. Birthday candles would be ideal if you have any handy, as the wax melts at a lower temperature. Just check the damage is only shell deep and not through the membrane as well.
Welcome to BYC! I would post in this forum: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/5/incubating-amp-hatching-eggs good luck to you.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan
Unless the egg is quite valuable, I would recommend removing it - spoiled eggs can seriously smell, and contaminate the other eggs in the incubator.
I agree with sumi, I've read of several successful hatches where cracks were sealed with melted wax.
Thanks for the help!!! I think I'll take it out as it is not valuable.
Please excuse my ignorance but I cannot for the life of me find where to begin a new thread!
