3 week old olive egger. Noticed her feet/legs are starting to crack and bleed...comparable to dry hands etc in a human I'm guessing. New to having chicks...any ideas on cause or how to treat. She's in a brooder with 5 other chicks, she's the only one with this issue. I've been cleaning and applying neosporin so far.

What beeding are you using? Are there water spills or is the bedding clean and dry? What are the ages of all of the chicks? Could an older one be pecking her feet? Is there anything sharp, such as a feeder or waterer?

3 weeks old. Pine shavings. Not wet as I have a water bottle. Ages range from 3 weeks to 5 weeks. I haven't seen any aggression by anyone in the flock. The feeder is the standard metal round one with holes. Nothing sharp on it but maybe she's hitting her legs and feet on it when she scratches? She's the only one with this issue.

I had a metal feeder for chicks that was very sharp and have heard of at least one chick getting it’s neck sliced on one. Her legs don’t look bad, but you may want to change the feeder, and use a little Betadine on the legs.
