Well one of my EE hens is broody again! Third time this year. The past two times I have not let her hatch any eggs because I had no roo. Well I guess I will let her hatch this round because I am tired of her being broody. Tonight I was sitting in the kitchen and I heard a commotion under my house. I live in a mobile home. Apparently she has her nest under my house and I heard her making all kinds of noise. All of a sudden she came barreling out from under the house making all kinds of noise. She then flew up on the porch to sleep next to her sister. I have no idea why she went nuts. Has anyone else had a broody that decided the get off the nest in the middle of the night? I want to give her a few days to make sure she is good and broody and try and move her to the broody hutch. Any one have suggestions on what I should hatch? Thinking of ordering some Ancona duck eggs.
By the way I live in South Texas so winter isn't really a concern.
