Hi All,

I have actually never lived anywhere where I could raise chickens.

But I had a barred rock as an apartment pet. She was the sweetest thing ever.
Well,,, I was browsing chicken breeds and I saw the Seramas!!!! OMG, must have NOW!!!!
So I am out to get one nice little bird,,, hopefully tomorrow.

I'm also hoping to move in the next couple of years to where I can raise my own chickens.

Looking forward to getting to know people on this forum!

Hi from another newbie and welcome!!!! I just got a property that would allow me to have chickens, or anything else I want!!!! You are going to love when you get there. I'm not to familiar with the breed but if it makes you happy then it's perfect. I have only had leghorns in the past and I'm looking into different breeds to see what I might like. I still have a way to go on the coop, so plenty of time to research, research, research!!! Please post pictures of your new baby when you get him/her!!!!

Chickens are flock animals and do better with some buddies. My friend has 2 serama hens and 2 silkies as house pets. They wait by the front door for her to return from errands, and watch tv with her during the evening.

She doesn't diaper them but, is always cleaning up - there is no bad odor in her home.
