Crest genetics

Anyone have a good understanding of crest genetics. Is the gene sex linked. I have a roo with a flat smooth crest. It's part ameraucana but I don't know the other half. I'm hoping this knowledge can help me figure out the breed so I can reproduce the effect.

I do not believe that 'crest' is sex linked. In my experience it seems to exhibit incomplete dominance. Someone more astute about genetics will be along.
