Hi there,
I purchased a trio of 3-wk old pullets a few weeks ago. They're now 5.5 weeks old and the Lakenvelder and Polish, which are smaller breeds, are both bigger than the Crevecoeur.
She's about the same size as my 3-wk old BCMs and LOs.
Is this a slow-growing-maturing breed or is it possible I got a bantam? Or perhaps she is small for her breed? She doesn't appear to be sick or have anything else wrong with her. She eats and drinks fine and is not listless and is in the same crate with several others her age and they all get along well - none are particularly dominant chicks.
Now that I think of it, my Salmon Faverolle is growing more slowly than some of her same-age counterparts. Perhaps it is something with the French breeds' maturity rates?
Thanks for any thoughts.
