Crickets = big hit!

After reading someone else's hilarious tale of live crickets and baby chicks, I was very careful about giving some to my 6 week old girls. But after putting 1-2 testers in that were immediately gobbled up I gave them the whole tub (there were only 24 in there). They were gone in an instant! Now they look at me like hey, where are the bugs? Hehe...

We've got tons of grasshoppers here. My kids like to catch them in a jar and dump them in the brooder for the turkeys. They go crazy for them. I can't wait till we can turn them and the chickens loose to clean them up.

I raise tropical roaches to feed to my reptiles and amphibians, chickens love em too . . .

. . . my chickens are afraid of the larger types like hissers and dubias
