SLW 6.5 mo old.
thats one cool lookin dude
Lacking round Wyandotte type, too high, back too long, legs too long, wrong tail. Not sure if it's gold breaking through on his shoulders or dirt. Looks to have a very good comb.
In the pics he is all stretched out/ up looking around. On the alert. And it's dirt on his wing lol.
Here is a pic of him standing more normally.
If you're looking for critique based on how a Wyandotte SHOULD look like. . .
He's a typical hatchery bird, so. . . He's got way too long, big, and high set of a tail, too skinny of a body, so far he looks to have too long of legs, too, his lacing is quite poor, and his back is too long. However, he does have a good comb, and at least he doesn't have a squirrel tail or practical "spangling" like a lot of other hatchery-quality Wyandottes.
Otherwise, as a plain 'ol backyard rooster, if you like him, that's what matters.
Can someone post what a Wyandotte roo "should" look like?
I would suggest checking out the Foley's site to see what exceptional wyandottes look like. SLW, BLRW, blue or black, they're about the best you can find.
Quote:Keesmom is right these are the best Wyndottes around your fellow is a hatchery bred bird that has hatchery bred type.
Neat-o! The roo is so round it looks like a bantam!
