I hatched 100' s of chicks in last few years, never had a crooked toe case.

Recently I received shipment of small Bantams from a reputable breeder, few of them have crooked toes.

Is there any genetic reason for this or just hatching conditions? Perhaps temp too high?

Are they culls (for breeding purposes)?

Otherwise they are walking and running like others, in fact I did not notice crooked toes first day at the arrival, cause they were small, and very active, none of them has shown any defect in the way they moved around.
