This is my sussex, sold as a sexed female. She is about 12w now, but has started crowing in the last few days. I have read that hens can crow in small flocks (we only have 3 chickens) But it has been at 5am for the last 3 days. We live in the suburbs so she has to go, but is she actually a he? [IMG]

That is definitely a rooster. Sexing is only 90-95% accurate, and mistakes do happen.

Rooster. They're way more common than crowing hens [IMG]

X 2 - especially with young birds, OP, the "crowing hens" you hear about happening "all the time" are older, mature hens with hormonal imbalances.
