Cuckoo Maran chicks

    I picked up these 3, week old female chicks on friday. The guy had ordered a whole bunch from a hatchery and said they were all females. I am thinking the one with the bigger wings might be a rooster. They are much more developed than the other two's wings are, and it is also forming some little tail feathers. Help![​IMG]

    I don't think the development of the wing and tail feathers is a indicator that it's a male. Actually females usually develop the feathers more quickly. But the lighter coloring has me leaning toward a male. However, there are always exceptions with chicks like this, I don't think it can be sexed with certainty at that age. I would suggest posting again in about 5 weeks. By then, it's gender will be a lot more obvious.
