Cute little mutant.

    This little one is named Toes because it seems to have an excess of them. It only has that one long rear toe on the left side, nothing but a small one on the right. You can't see it in the pics but the chick looks like its wearing eye liner.

    Mottled Houdan - they are one of the few breeds with a fifth toe

    In non-hatchery stock, is the fifth toe only on one foot or is it on both?

    Both feet have 5 toes. You can clearly see that in the very first pic.

    Your bird does have 5 toes on each foot, but it's not unheard of to get the fifth only on one foot. I've got a cute little hatchery Silkie who is a Niner [​IMG]. It's just part and parcel of hatchery quality [​IMG]
