Jerseys! They are beautiful, easy to keep and give wonderful creamy milk.

Jerseys,,,absolutely,,they are amazingly the calmest and gentlest you can own.
Girls that is,,I understand the boys turn into major trouble.
I have 6 registered jerseys,,and 1 3/4 jersey/holstein. They are amazing mothers and their personalities are exceptioinal.

I read in my Hobby Farms magazine that there are Low Line cattle ie mini's !

I want a Jersey cow and a mini Jersey would be perfect. Of course milking a mini may be a recipe for serious backache.

milking shorthorns are very nice but can be hard to find
and also gurnseys a lot like a jersey but a little bigger.

I'd want a jersey as my first milking cow, but would happily makea pet out of a holstien. And those Low line cattle are ADORABLE (esp the jersey ones he he).

We run dairy animals here and have had many breeds. Go with a jersey.

Mini Jersey doesn't have to be a pain in the back if you build an simple milking platform.
