Any experts out there take a peek at my 4-5 week old dark Brahma baby and tell me what you think???
I don’t have any experience with this breed but this year got one dark and one buff and LOVE them both sooo much.
I’m 99.999% sure my buff is a girl but I’ve had my eye on this one because she’s always been a bit bigger and her head/beak just looks a little different to me. Today she started to “play” a little tougher than before and sound different, like she’s making a continuous loud purring sound....ugh I’m really hoping & praying that’s she’s just a tougher little girl—— 5AAD0FE2-9C52-4A42-B88B-25F70E1FA40D.jpeg 797380F9-6187-492A-9FCE-A0571FF736A4.jpeg 7F87403F-696E-4C6F-B2B1-9D15A1BAF99D.jpeg

I have a Dark Brahma bantam Roo. He’s in my avatar.
    Your chick is a pullet.
The males are mostly black with white hackle/saddle feathers.
    Females are penciled gray.

She has excellent feathering on her feet.

Thank you all sooo very much!!!! You have no idea how much you just made my day!

I appreciate your quick responses and expertise—I knew I could count on the awesome backyard chicken peeps

I had 4 roos in my batch of 14 chicks 2 yrs ago, I kept one but it just killed me to have to give away the other three. Lost him about a year ago ☹️ and since moved to an area that restricts all roosters otherwise it wouldn’t have mattered one bit but yay! She’s just a big feisty, beautiful girl!

    Thanks again everyone!
