There doesn't seem to be that many Dark Cornish enthusiasts out there, and I do love my DCs (only one at the present, but looking to expand

). I have the boy in my avatar, Dumbledore, and he is big and broad and looks great except that he needs a more upright stance and a bit heavier breast. So, here is my thought, can anyone advise me if breeding back some Aseel into a line would help improve this in him and other hatchery stock like him? Seeing that it is a parent breed to the DCs, I thought maybe this could be a possible way to improve the lesser qualities of the hatchery birds available.
Any thoughts from some with experience would be greatly appreciated.

There are a lot of Cornish breeders and enthusiasts in the Heritage Large Fowl thread.

Lots of very nice birds. . .

The boy there does indeed like hatchery stock and needs a lot of improvement, if anything the key is to breed good quality Cornish, not Aseel into him. After all, good Aseels are harder to find than Cornish. . . .
